Dole Plantation

On the last day of our trip we headed for a drive around the island. We had a lot of time to kill because we checked out of the cabin at 1:00 and our flight didn't leave until 10:40 that night. We made sure to stop at Matsumotos for shave ice based on recommendations from a number of friends. I wish I had gotten a picture but alas I did not. They were yummy at least.

At the end of our day long car ride, we stopped at the Dole Plantation. We got there just as they were closing so we were lucky enough to get to use the restrooms and take a look around the gardens outside.
Who knew this is how pineapples grew? We sure didn't.
They come in all different shapes, sizes and colors.
So tiny. Did you know that it takes 20 months for one plant to grow a full sized pineapple?
